KONINGSPLEIN 3 / PLACE ROYALE 3 - The collection of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium covers a period extending from the 15th to the 21st centuries.It provides a vast overview of western art, with remarkable ensembles of works of artists from Belgium or from the former Southern Netherlands. Composed mainly of paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints, it also includes, in particular through donations or deposits, items of decorative arts and furniture along with a small number of non-European works.
Magritte
KONINGSPLEIN 3 / PLACE ROYALE 3 - The Musée Magritte Museum, located in the heart of Brussels, brings together the world's largest collection of the renowned surrealist artist René Magritte: 230 works and archives are displayed. The multidisciplinary space houses paintings, gouaches, drawings, sculptures and painted objects, as well as advertising posters, musical scores, photographs and films. The Museum also has the most important collection from the artist’s "vache" period. The Musée Magritte Museum has already received 8 nominations and prizes. Every year more than 300,000 visitors come here for all over the world to discover the life and the works of René Magritte.
The New Berlin
KONINGSPLEIN 3 / PLACE ROYALE 3 - The exhibition “The New Berlin” focuses on politicized art and the urban challenges of a modern but war-scarred metropolis between 1912 and 1932. Through paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs and films by artists such as Otto Dix, Raoul Hausmann, Kazimir Malevich, Alexander Rodchenko, … the key movements and creative minds of this gripping period come alive again.
